Materials and Tools: — 9 x 5-inch piece of leather — hot glue gun with glue sticks — paint and paint brushes — keychain ring — scissors — ruler — pen Instructions:
- On the back side of the leather, use the ruler to measure half an inch down the long side. Draw a line straight across.
- Flip the leather over and lightly brush paint onto the front side. We played with different color combinations and patterns. Feel free to paint as much or as little as you want.
- Once the paint is dry, flip the leather over and cut fringe, stopping when you hit the line.
- When the fringe is cut all the way to the end, snip off two pieces of the fringe.
- Take one of the loose strips and snip off about one and a half inches. String the keyring through the strip and glue the two ends of that strip together to form a loop with the ring on it. Glue that loop to an upper corner on the big piece of leather.
- Tightly roll the fringe piece around the loop. Add glue along the edge as you’re rolling to make it extra secure. Roll until you get to the end.
- Take the second leather strip and wrap it around the top edge of the tassel. Glue down the ends to secure the strip around the top. Trim off the extra leather.
